• Laura Joh Rowland The Salaryman's Wife Sujata Massey   A witty, perceptive take on how contemporary society clashes with traditional culture in modern Japan. Rei Shimura, the irreverent, likable Japanese-American heroine, straddles East and West with aplomb. I enjoyed her adventures and hope there will be more of them.
