This website is still in alpha. That means that it is being developed right now! So there's a big chance that a lot of things change from day to day.
The most important functions work already though! You can register, log in, submit recommendations, and rate them. A lot of other items are on the todo list. For instance: comments, social links, editing blurbs, and editing books. And of course I'll try to add as many recommendations myself as I can!
In the meantime, enjoy what is here, join in, submit some things yourself, and be patient if anything appears broken or illogical. I'm working on it!

The dictionary reads: A brief publicity notice, as on a book jacket. And that explains it pretty well. A lot of books have texts on the cover that help sell them. And a lot of authors ask fellow authors if they want to write a foreword, or just a small comment about the book. These can be found on the outer cover of the book, or sometimes on the first pages in the book itself.
Be carefull though, a lot of blurbs on books actually refer to older works, or the work in general by the author in question. This because it can be hard for people to review work that hasn't yet been published. Or for the publisher to gather it all in, and get it to the printer in time.
Yes! Of course you can. That would be much appreciated. You have to be a published author, and if you can find yourself through the submission form, please go right ahead. If you can't but you can prove you are who you say you are, and have been published... contact me (Dolf) via the contact page, and I will sort it out.
Work is being done to add as many authors/recommendations as possible, but there are so many that it will take quite a while to get everything. That is also why you can submit them yourself to help out others. Hopefully together we can make it easier for people to find new reading material that they like.
On a lot of book-sleeves blurbs from the newsmedia are published. Sadly it's hardly ever mentioned who actually wrote the text. We can however assume that whomever wrote it is an author. Also, a lot of people rely on such media to find out about new books. This way they can see them all at a glance. It might 'bend the rules' ever so slightly, but within the boundaries of this website.
Well, for now we're trying to make sure that every book that is submitted exists, and every author is someone who has had his/her work published. To do so we're checking with Amazon. This is a great service, but not every published work/author is in their database. So, for now, if you can not find it through our form you simply can't submit it. This may change in the future though. Still considering it.
For now just contact me (Dolf), and I will take care of it. You can find me through the contact page.
In the future you will be able to correct things yourself, or flag them for review.
